London Cube Co, a new and young design workshop www.londoncubecompany.com, announced that their debut and the launch of their customizable K1/8 and K8/8 cubes will take place in September during London Design Week at the 100%Design show. The product is a playful furniture cube whose six faces can be customized to the owner’s requirement by choosing from an online design library, submitting their own or engaging the studio to design something unique.

“With K1/8 and K8/8 we aim to open up a discussion on technology and craft and how they don’t exclude each other” said Claretta Pierantozzi, London Cube Co founder. “Now anyone can be in charge of the design process and enjoy a unique piece of furniture that can be truly personalised.”

K1/8 and K8/8 represent the two sizes the cube comes in. While the former can be used as a baby stool or as a house ornament and the latter as a stool or side table, the cubes are very versatile. Of very high quality and produced in Britain, the Cubes come in a choice of three materials: birch plywood, white oak or black walnut. K1/8 and K8/8 will be available to buy on the website from September starting from £340.

After graduating from the Architectural Association and having worked for some of the top architecture firms in London including Foster+Partners, Heatherwick studio and David Chipperfield architects, Claretta Pierantozzi established London Cube Co in 2013. The company has been conceived with the intention to integrate the many design processes accumulated over the years to offer something unique. Techniques like silk-screening and letterpressing to lasercutting and CNC milling are used with more hand crafted labour to offer a new type of customization service.
